The XLS isn't terrible and I have seen aftermarket kits on ebay

For a green truck would you go with the brown and orange or bittersweet and orange?

The moulding would be nice for gravel strikes though... my truck even came with those wheels.

Mmm both are delicious. All white would look nice I think, and this guy does custom colors

That is actually pretty cheap, I think that was technically only for '83 though. I don't really have much else to go with an XLS for it to feel right...

I really don't know what I am going to do yet, probably just a pinstripe.

I bet I know someone who would part ways with all the XLS body trim....bolt on for your truck... 🤣 Really though, bedliner or something is so much better for rock chips. The XLS trim is literally screwed onto the body with philips head screws...rust city in no time behind those unless you used adhesive strips or glue instead.

If I had a green truck and my choice of color for decals, I'd probably choose silver, white, tan maybe to match your interior.

Drive it, Break it, Fix it, REPEAT !
You probably already know this, but when I had to apply decals or woodgrain on vehicles, I would use a pin to fix the air bubble. The pinhole couldn't be seen after you smoothed the bubble out, and there was never an issue with the decal ever lifting off. Just a little unsolicited info.

That's good to know! There's a couple that might need that treatment. I'm going to let it sit in the sun for a few days and if they're still there I'll go at em with a pin.

Here's a short walk around video

Thanks fellas. It's been a ton of work but I'm happy with the result. Having it in the calendar would be cool!

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Picked up this little guy over the weekend, 2.3 4wd. No rust, but the interior is crap.

Stay tuned for some updates in the coming weeks on this little ranger. :icon_welder:

That's awesome. 89 was my first ranger. Will always have a soft spot. Of course in the 90s it was dropped with a 289 v8. Mustang 2 front end and rear end. Haha to be a kid
