Yes sir keeping the 2.3, I knew I was pulling the trans and tcase, and I wanted to do some work to the motor, so I pulled it just to make things easier.

Pressure washed the motor, all new stuff going on. New timing belt/tensioner, water pump, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, valve cover gasket, sparkplugs, thermostat, etc. Should be leak and maintenance free for a good while

Ha! No turbo on this one. With small tires and 4.56 gears, this should be quite speedy. This is going to be a in town commuter with camping capabilities.

I do have an entire Turbocoupe setup I could use....but I don't need 200hp in this little danger ranger.

I used to have a 4cyl. in my truck. Those things are tough as nails and will do a lot for what they are. I was pushing 32x11.50s with mine and 4.10 with no issues. Nice to see people build truck that don't need to have huge motors to be awesome:icon_thumby:.

Yeah i'm not towing any horse trailers or anything with this truck, so the 2.3 will be plenty, especially with the low gearing. Plus, this truck should get decent mileage

Now that the engine and trans are functioning properly, next is a 1354, which I have yet to find a good one, and then Dana 35 in the front and a 7.5 in the rear, both with 4.56 gears and lockers, all with about 2" of lift and new poly bushings. Then, it's on to the interior, and then eventually, paint, new headlights, grille, and bed liner

Why put a 7.5 in the rear with gears and not an 8.8?

Well I already have the 7.5 setup with gears and a locker, its from my old bronco 2. I could get and 8.8 and regear it, but since I already have the 7.5 I may as well use it :icon_thumby:
