Those bed boxes have always been a brilliant way to make handy use of otherwise wasted space. I've always loved those, especially in the classic Ford trucks.

It seems like Dodge has their stuff figured out. They make what people really want. From the Power Wagon to the Demon and Hellcat. They're not afraid of doing what they want as far as performance. Ford just seems sheepish in everything except their Mustang line-up.
They did kinda goof on the Power Wagon, I think it was only the first year you could get it with a Cummins. After that, gas only.

Ford has the Raptor and Shelby's so they are about on par though.

My friend owns an oilfield service company and used to run ford exclusively. About 3 years ago he went over to Dodge. Too many problems with Ford. Most people stick with what they were first exposed to at the beginning. Until it starts costing real money. He seems to be happy with Dodge still. I have another friend that has done long haul for years, he drives an old dodge diesel. It seems that 90's Dodge has a good rep for diesel drivetrain, it's too bad they rust out so bad. I stick with what I know which is old Ford trucks.

Diesel is overrated.
Especially now but I wouldn't mind a pre emissions one that didn't have half a million miles on it. And it would be a pretty rare truck.

The 92 and 93 w-250 and w-350's with the 12 valve cummins were beasts. We had one at work with the snow-commander package. Factory installed Myers plow, limited slip rear, HD everything, block and oil heaters, the ultimate northeast truck. Unlike alot of dodges of the era the bodies were fully galvanized before being painted. You had to try really hard to get them to rust. Im pretty sure that truck is still plowing snow somewhere.

I've been looking for a 93 Ramcharger canyon sport for years but no one lets them go. In my opinion they were the best big SUV ever made. And the last of the big dinosaurs. Dodge died in 1994 and hasn't made a thing worth buying since.

Diesel in a 3/4 ton that you use as a daily driver/ commuter and occasionally tow your 3k lb trailer issue waste. But that's popular right now, and manufacturers and the aftermarket are making a sh!t-ton of money off them.

Unless your useing your pickup in similar manner to a semi (as in, heavy loads over long distance) a big gasser is more the adequate and actually cheaper to run.

Espicially given all the DPF/DEF whatever bs

That bs will soon be coming to gasoline engines. :icon_rofl:

Mercedes has been using GPF (gasoline particulate filtration) for a while and other manufacturers are designing systems of their own.

That is true. You know if the 6speed manual was available in those with the cummins? Thatd be quite the setup.

You've got a few years before there is any chance of seeing it in the states. They are mostly coming from the germans right now, audi, vw, mercedes. But the green patrol in the US definitely caught wind of it so the big 3 have been testing systems. EPA regulations are only going to continue to get tighter so car companies are staying on top of crap like this and any other tech that will squeeze a extra fart of cleaner air out of their cars. From what I've read its really only effective on GDI cars for whatever reason though. But obviously GDI is becoming a standard thing now too. :icon_rofl:
