Im looking to stuff some 285/75/16 tires under my truck, currently I have 265/70/16s on it now. It has the torsion lift, any idea on if they would fit or not? I'd like to plop on some tires before I do fiberglass fenders. I think they may rub but I do have some small 1 inch offroad spacers if need be.

That's a 33x11.25 tire. No way that's fitting with just cranked T-bars.

There are a few people that have done it... torsion bars are maxed. One was a featured truck Jim did awhile back.

It can be done but there may be some trimming involved to get it to work. You might want to consider a body lift just to make sure. Since your profile says you have a 2007, you already have the bigger blocks in the back and taller torsion keys. The biggest thing is going to be clearances in the front wheel wells. With my 2011, I had to do a bit of trimming on the driver's side wheel well liner so that my 31X10.5 tires wouldn't rub (2008+ they dropped the truck height some 1.5" I think). The back was just fine. If you crank the torsion bars, you're going to need an alignment done ASAP.

Torsion bars have been cranked ever since I bought the truck, they are maxed out and I have new shocks and alignment. I currently run 265/70/16s on it, it looks like the 285 may fit, and I prob can run spacers as needed. However if I go with a 265/75/16 that gives me an extra inch over what I got now.

I plan on picking up a set of 33x10.50x15 for my Alcoas one day. I plan on a little torsion crank and an old man emu add a leaf. These Cepek's stand 31.9 inches.

If you can, I would to a test fit before you fully commit. Turn the wheels in and out, checking as you go for potential rub points. Also don't forget to factor in suspension travel over uneven ground and hitting bumps. I think it will work for you but it's better to be sure before the money is spent and you are stuck looking for a fix.

I need to re-key mine because of the bump factor. Preferably with 2007 or earlier factory keys and the same with the lift blocks in the back. More to keep the factory rake look since I like that look but want a bit more clearance for the tires in the front.

I have the front torsion crank, so those would def fit. I think that may work for now. That gives me another inch.

Simple answer is NO. I am running 285s with the torsion bar delete and 800lb coilOver Shocks AND a 3" body lift. My tires contact the flares under a hard bump turning a corner(like pulling into a driveway)

Here is a pic of stock 245s vs the 285s just to give you an idea of the size difference and why they don’t clear. Also a pic of my truck w the coilovers and 3” body lift w 285s

If I may ask, what gear ratio are you running? I have 4.10 gears and run a 265/70r16, and the performance is satisfactory. You could even go to the 265/75R16 without sacrificing too much performance. The 285/75R16 would make performance a little sluggish with 4.10 gears.

If you are running 3.73 gears, I think you would probably be miserable with 285/75R16

I have 4.10s. And yes a bit sluggish compared the 32/11.50/15s I took off But I also gutted the main cat and the truck currently has 260k on it, neither of which help in the power department. But Once my cummins goes it it will be just fine

Putting in a Cummins is a big change. I look forward to seeing how it turns out. Will that bolt up to the 5r55e?
