After swapping transmissions in my Ranger a month or so ago I'm now pulling the trans out of my 94 F250. It doesn't really look that different when installed, but holy crap what a difference! I had the old Ranger TK4 transmission in a corner of the shed and walked by it and had to laugh, it looks like a toy! It kind of sucks how much heavier everything is. According to FedEx, the clutch & flywheel assembly on its way weighs 87 lbs. One nice thing is all the room to work though. I'm doing the main seal and I made a backrest out of my creeper and can basically sit up in the trans tunnel facing the engine, and I'm 6'3"! The truck is sitting on the tires, not jacked up at all, stock suspension. After having a car fall on me this summer jacks/stands still make me nervous. Anyway, random thought and made me appreciate what I have, remembering replacing a heater core in my son's Grand Prix. I wish I had two elbows per arm for that one.
