Best air intake setup?

Looking to get some more mileage out of my 04 b2300, and was looking at putting a air intake on it. Like the dry filter over the wet, and a enclosed box over the open filter. Any one tried one and liked or not liked it? Thought of building my own, but would rather get one that has been tried before. Any thoughts???

I only say stock because it is hard to improve on the stock setup. It is already cold air intake...and flows more air than your engine can use. Just put in a stock replacement high flow filter, and that shoud safice.

I agree, you will be throwing your money away on any aftermarket air filter or intake. Stay with the OEM paper filter, and change it regularly and you will be fine!

i put a K&N fipk on mine and noticed a good bit of difference......i like the volant kit a little better but it costs a little more and they didnt have it in stock when i went to order one so i got the K&N

I had a K&N FIPK on my 05 and will tell you it's totally worth it. I'm not a guy that buys into "tornados" or "throttlebody spacers" either. I had never purchased anything K&N or any other high performance filters before I had bought that FIPK because I didn't believe it would make a difference. I figured I'd give one a shot and can say that it genuinely made a difference when coupled with exhaust.

k&n filters are good, mainly cuz they're reusable cotton, and easier to clean unlike the stock paper filters, plus there IS more airflow

WRONG! The intake will only flow the amount of air that the engine will pull. The OEM intake and filter will flow way more air than the engine will pull, so you could use a sewer pipe for an intake, and you wouldn't get any more airflow!

I will take back my answer. Yes OEM is the way to go. I don't even use the shitty fram filters let alone K&N. Get Wick.
