Since I'm putting a mechanical motor in my truck I don't need all the extra electronics under the hood. What things can I all eliminate without affecting my light system anything motor related can go.

All the engine management wiring can go short of the temp, oil, tac and a key on 12v. If you have a tac, then you can get it to work using an ABS sensor on the ballancer w/3 notches (if your motor was a v-6). One wire to 12v and the other to the signal terminal on the tac, thats what I did and it works prefect.

Thats an ingenious way to do it!

So do you just unplug the ignition box or cut the wires back at the computer to avoid live wires under the hood?

Have the motor sitting in the truck where I want it. Have to get creative with the radiator to make it fit. Still need to finish up the motor mounts so everything is solid. Tons of little things to do.

It's the little things that seem to generate the most frustration and take the most time.

I know a ton about these motors, if you want more power I'll share some tips.

When you reinstalled the front balancer did you use new pins and loctite? The alignment pins tend to break after they have been removed once.

Put in a good weekend and motor and transmission are solid, exhaust is ran I went 2 1/4 from the manifold to the flex right beside the tranny at the joint it changes to 3" all the way up and over the axle then it changes to 4" out the passenger side. I had to modify the front end rad support to sink the rad in. I made a new support out of 1/4 plate I bent up and welded in. I made a metal shroud and bottom plate to protect te rad

You know when your almost done a project and you go to test it and everything turns from excitement to anger...... Had everything hooked up had ran it all sounded good and then came to testing the clutch and it needed to be bled well got in there to crack open the bleed screw and it broke off tried fixing it under the truck that didn't work... Truck has been stripped right apart but I'm getting faster at it lol by te end I'll never be scared to rip it apart and fix anything two hours to have motor and tranny out. Hope to get it fixed up tonight and slap it back in tomorrow
