I tried searching the forum, but what came up was out of date and there were no images.

Can these be had for our Rangers? Anybody have pics of theirs?

Nice. If that wasn't available, I was thinking of getting something custom made that folds out from the inside of the tailgate.

I just bought a used '04 XLT that came with one. Yeah, I was stupefied to open the tailgate to find it hidden by the tonneau. Mine looks similar to the one linked above. However, mine allows more cargo to be on the tailgate. It's more "U" shaped as opposed to that one which is more "V" shaped, if that makes sense.

Currently, it's hanging from the ceiling in my garage as it limits the amount of stuff I can put in the bed while the Ranger is parked inside (that is, I have too much crap in the garage and my Ranger's bed substitutes as storage space ). I cannot find anything that identifies the manufacturer so I'm assuming it's factory or a Ford after-market accessory. It seems to be made of a stainless steel alloy as there's no rust on it anywhere.

What would you like to know/see?

Here's an image from Facebook Marketplace for an '01 F-150 bed extender. Mine looks just like this:

There are three more pics in that post. If you have an FB account, click HERE.

Yeah, ideally that's what I'd like. Its handy for keeping the smaller items in check.

Right now my first priority is getting a spray in bed liner.

For fun, I checked FB Marketplace for a Ranger bed extender. There are quite a few available, in my area. I would be surprised if there aren't some near you. If not, and you really want one, I'd be happy to help you get one. I have friends in the Buffalo area. I could ship it to them (might be $$$) and you could drive over (when the border opens) and pick it up. LMK.

Thanks, but I'm more of a local pick up and deal in person type of buyer.

Bed extenders were available from the factory (mine came with one). It looks similar to the one that is pictured above.

Here is the part# from Tasca, although it is discontinued. 1L5Z-99286A40-AB

I think that all you would need would be the extender itself and the bolts for the bed side. A google / ebay search should yield some results.

I checked that out, it only lists Ford Ranger 2011-14. (why specifically those years considering 2012 was the absolute final year unofficially)

Appreciated, but since I got my cap, I won't be needing the extender.

You have to watch out for which Ford "Ranger" an accessory is for
North American Ranger, 1983 to 2011/12, and the newer 2019/20

International T6 Ranger, 2011 to present, our new Rangers here have similar dimensions to the T6, but the T6 can't be imported to US/Canada because it doesn't meet emissions or safety standards, they also have diesel engine and manual trans options, which would be nice to have here

Oh I see. Good to know that you got a cap.
