Anyone who is in or around Whitehorse Yukon, Arctic Winter Games will be in Whitehorse this March. I please please advise you to go check it out. Especially Inuit and Dene Games. My stepdad is the coach for the men's Dene team.

I got to go to Arctic Winter Games in 2010 in Grand Praire, Alberta, but I was not chosen to go this year.

Please go support my friends and FAMILY on Inuit and Dene games. That'd be much appreciated!!!

Dene is Indian Games and Inuit is Eskimo Games.
Main events to go see will be Opening cerimonies, Pole Push, Hand Games (Indian Gambling), Indian Stick Pull, Snow Snake, One Foot High Kick, Two Foot High Kick, Alaskan High Kick, One Hand Reach, Knuckle Hop, Neck Pull and a few others.

Take lots of pictures! You can find more schedual information @ http://awg2012.org/en/PlayYourPart/Tickets.aspx :icon_thumby::icon_thumby::yahoo:

Canadian "a" is spelled "eh"...... sailors say "aye".

Good luck to your family at the games though

Hmmmmm...well, my apologies...wampum was a word my parents, family and many friends used to refer to money...but that was back in the 60's...and I didn't actually have any Native American friends to say otherwise...I did spend more than a few hours exploring sites such as the settlements around the Great Lakes...and found it interesting...

I just spent an hour reading about what wampum actually is according to wikipedia and it was, of course, varied depending on who you are...I could probably read for another five and still not appreciate all the intricacies of the customs, beliefs, and lifestyles...but that doesn't make me rude or insensitive...ignorant is more like it...and I'm not afraid of learning...it just doesn't have an relevance other than this learning experience...I will strike the word from my vocabulary...out of respect and due to my lack of understanding...

Canadian pirates actually say "Ahar Matey..." to which the correct response is "Eh!"

Eh, is a multi-purpose word that means yes, what, you don't say, really?, and is also used by some men to express sexual gratification...EH, EH, EHHHHHHHHHHH...
