axle shifted?

2000 3.0 5spd, was driving and heard weird noise, got home and my slip yoke is starting to slip out of the trans. what could cause this? recently did an 8.8 swap and put deavers on, im positive everything was done correctly but wondering if i missed something. might switch up my shock mounting, only thing i can think of when it comes to where to start to keep the driveshaft from pushing back. any input is appreciated.

How much is it slipping out? Have you retorqued all the bolts after the installation with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension? That would be the initial and after 500 miles.

1/2"-3/4" total movement is normal as the suspension cycles up and down.

it slipped about 2-1/2 to 3 inches out. i torqued everything down once it was off jackstands, but i’ll probably end up shifting it back and doing it again anyways, so maybe i’ll catch something. i thought about adjusting the shock mounting points too, hoping it might help.

Look at your back tires compared to the wheel wells and see which side or both shifted to the rear. Or is your pinion angled up or down severely?

Shocks don't mean anything.

My money is on something (probably the ubolts) coming loose.

i do have a slight pinion angle, just took a look at it and its angled down, thats my fault i shouldve known better. thanks for mentioning that, wouldve slipped my mind

A slight downward pinion angle is alright, because axle torque straightens it out. Just don't want it to be excessive. There are shims that can be purchased for adjusting the pinion angle. For instance, my 04Lightning came with shims from the factory. 03 and 04 Lightning's have heavier rear springs and sit higher than 99 - 02. So Ford shimmed the axle for proper pinion angle. When I lowered it to resemble the earlier trucks, I simply removed the shims.
