Hey guys,

My little brother needs to do the breaks on his 98 explorer. it is AWD and my dad is not sure how the rotors are set up and if he needs a specific locking tool to undo the spindle nuts and whatnot. Any help you guys can provide would be awsome. Are they like 2wd where the rotors are easy to take off or is like a 4wd where it takes the special tools?

They are easy to take off. The rotors mount to the wheel bearing hubs and slide off after taking the caliper and caliper bridge off. No need for special tools with 95+ Explorers.
