I’m thinking about adding an external tank to my 1997 ranger for long road trips. 15-20 gallon tank in the bed with a small pump to pump the fuel into the tank at 3-5 psi at about 0.5 gallons per minute via a 5/16” tube welded into the filler neck.

Has anyone here tried something like this? Will the tank vent system allow the pressure in the tank to be relieved properly? Any other potential problems or ideas? Thanks.

Ypu can buy those in bed long range tanks so i imagine it would be fine. A few conpanies custom make them for vehicles but i imagine if you can find a used one, it would work just like for a full size truck.
