Won a bid for an online auction from copart, and it was worth EVERY DIME.
What I got was a 2005 explorer sport trac that had been hit in the rear pretty good.
I got it home and went right ahead and started checking stuff out.
Popped the hood and found a tag (A JASPER TAG) saying the engine AND transmission has been done at 140k miles. The truck only has 160k on it... so I got a 20k mile drive train for my upcoming project/projects :icon_hornsup:
Got the truck SUPER CHEAP too which makes it that much sweeter!

Well, personally I’d trust a Jasper any day over most others...I had a Marshall reman that was nothing but Junk! At one point I had pulled the heads , only to find out they used brass valve guides in the heads..wasn’t long after heads were redone, cyl 5 was burning oil not very long afterwords.. my 1 st choice is OEM remans, then maybe a Jasper.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
I’m a little surprised that anything Jasper touched made it 20k miles.

Always people that have their preferences, but I have had nothing but great results from Jasper. Thanks for your input, but I’m still stoked!

I don't specifically dislike jasper, I dislike any "remanufactured" stuff because these days that usually just means someone painted it. Reman use to mean it was completely torn down, inspected, and rebuilt to factory specs or better. Now you're lucky if they even fixed the initial problem which resulted in it being a core part. They do the absolute bare minimum to get it out the door or less.

Well it ran all the way until the accident and if it doesn't run it will be easy to test run and see what you have before you drop it into something else.

For the right price there are a lot of good parts there for ya.

It was a guard rail that did that to it. I originally bought it for the engine (expecting it to have 160k miles as said on the odometer)
