If you can’t make the Carlisle Truck Nationals, and you’re anywhere near Atlanta, I encourage you to check out the Southeastern Railway Museum truck and tractor show August 3&4. The Southeastern Railway Museum is about 5 minutes north of interstate 285 on Buford Highway.

I’ve been several times over the years. They have an incredible collection of railroad cars and locomotives, and equipment. My most memorable moment is when I got to drive a diesel electric locomotive!!! I only went about a quarter mile, but how many people ever get to do that?

It is a family friendly and community friendly patriotic event for charity. Fabulous for the kids. I’d be there if I wasn’t going to nationals.

Caffeine & Octane Sunday morning at the Kennesaw mall, Town Center at Cobb. Folks start to show up around seven, and everybody’s gone at noon. I plan on being in the classic car section a little bit to the right of the food court.

Lincoln and I will be there with the Road Ranger. I’ll Have an extra chair or two, some cold water and maybe a snack.

Come and join me and we can sit around and tell lies!

Caffiene & Octane at town center mall
In Kennesaw tomorrow morning. I plan on being there at 7:00AM in the classics section, which is 6-8 rows to the right of the food court, if you’re facing the building. It’s free in that section to participate.

I’ll have a couple chairs and some cold water for anyone who swings by. If you can’t find it or you can’t find me, my number is 770.331.9324. If you can’t make it and you wanna an on site update report, shoot me a text or give me a call.

Soooo, 6:15 quick wash in the driveway still in the dark, loaded up The cooler and a couple comfortable chairs, and Lincoln and headed out

Some folks will never learn, I saw no less than five cars stopped by police on my way in, and there must be a dozen ways in. The sad thing is right at the 75/575 split, one of the tuners rolled it over. It had apparently just happened and there was only one cop there.

I arrived about 7:15. It pretty much fills up by eight or 8:30. I like to be here early, partly to get a decent spot, but mostly so I don’t wipe out three or four cars as I turn this thing around and park it. I’m planning on learning how to drive it this year.

More to follow

The tuners have never been my cup of tea, but it’s like women, it’s whatever you want.

But I didn’t realize how backwards they really are until I saw this one

I hesitate to say, then I realized it’s a public service announcement.

The guy in that red Buick wildcat with the big gold wheels, he opened a half gallon bottle of Jack Daniels at 7:30 in the morning and drank 3/4 of it by the time he left at 11:30. He was a couple of spots down from me on the other side of the aisle. I didn’t even turn my key till he was out the gate. I did let one of the C&O people know, but I’m not his daddy.

Overall, another really good show. Lincoln got a lot of barking in, let those big dogs know who was in charge from the safety of the trailer deck.

When the crowd around me started to thin, that left the Road Ranger sitting on the side of the hill with nothing around it, and folks started coming out of the woodwork asking “did you build this?”

😁😁😁

This Saturday, September 21, from 10 AM until 2 PM, there is a car/truck/bike show (with prizes) at the “Peachtree Corners Festival.” Google it. This is a very family-friendly two-day event: entertainment and interest for everyone and every age.

Peachtree Corners is a relatively new city a little bit north of me, a little bit north north east of Atlanta outside the Atlanta perimeter I-285. It will be at the Hexagon Building, but use this address to enter: 3650 Medlock Bridge Road, Peachtree Corners, GA. There is $15 entrance registration and prizes to be won. This is adjacent the Forum shopping center, I believe across the street.

if you want to meet up, private message me and I’ll give you my cell, Rick W

I was involved when the city was formed, I have never been to this car show before, but they are great people in a great place and I expect it to be a very good, fun show and event.

Right now, I’m planning on taking my late 90s Sears mountain bike and riding it. I’ll take it down from the rafters in the shed of miracles because all the crap I have won’t run, won’t stop, or is otherwise broken, or is blocked by the referenced junk. If you go, and you see me on the side of the road, please stop and let me load my bike and ride with you.

I have ordered the wheel cylinders for The Road Ranger. They are supposed to be here Wednesday, and if there’s no other calamity, I plan on repairing it and driving that vehicle. I also have the bearings and seals for The Missing Linc as a back up, which would be my second choice. And finally, I have the ignition parts for Ole Blue, my 88 Signature Town Car, as a possible last last resort. I wish I knew a good mechanic close by. But it is a car/truck/bike show and Festival and I will make an appearance if even by UBER.

October 5 from 9 AM to noon is the next Caffeine and Octane at the Kennesaw Mall. To get a good spot you have to be there by 7 or 7:30. I will be there as well with something.

Please join me, it’s all cool and fun, especially if you have something that runs and stops!

@Rick W I would strongly suggest you remove your phone number from a part of the forum that is open to the public and internet searches. We all get enough spam calls and the like as it is, why make it easier for them?
