Are the headers the same for the 2.9, 3.0, 4.0 motors?

Are the headers the same for the 2.9, 3.0 and 4.0 motors? I'm looking for a set of headers for my 88 2.9 Ranger w/auto trans. and I cam across the JBA install directions (link below) and it says there headers fit the 86-98 Ranger, B II and the Explorer with an auto trans and all three motors (2.9, 3.0, 4.0) Is this right? Or am I reading it wrong?

They do/did make headers for the 4.0 and the 2.9 (don't know if they are still in production). I think they might make some for the 3.0 but I am not sure. I thought I read you can interchange the 4L and the 2.9L ones.

I guess what I am trying to ask is if they are interchangeable so I can look for headers for a 2.9 and also look at 4.0 and 3.0 headers as well. Right?

The 2.9 and 4.0 are intercheable other than the cat flange an EGR port....

3.0 is a different animal entirely.

pacesetter still makes headers for the 2.9, i bought some a few years ago for cheaper than what it would cost to replace the stock manifolds
