Are brake line anchor points important?

I’m working on the rear brakes on my ‘04 Edge 4WD. The right side was pretty toasted: wheel cylinder shot, brake line itself pretty rusty, etc.
Long story short, I’ve replaced the line with Ni-Cop, but the bracket that anchored the original line is gone. Total rust, it crumbled away still attached to the old line.
do I need to come up with a way to anchor the new line to something, or is it fine to just hang between the wheel cylinder and the little block on top of the diff? It’s a 30” line, I’ve about a 2’ span.

My credo
If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
You can use zip ties to secure it if necessary, the big thing is does it rub on anything? if not then it will be fine as is.
