My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
I have this 150cc "La Vita" scooter, its a vespa knock off....and despite being chinesium, they were fairly well made, had a bit of a cult following, but are now discontinued.

At first it had a high and erratic idle, which would mellow out after a ride. Now it refuses to idle.

It acts like a carburetor that has a plugged pilot jet. Normally in this case, I would pull and clean the carb, maybe replace jets and needles. But it doesn't have one, this thing is EFI!?

The only info I could find online is the owners manual, which I have.

Also just to note, there is this red "FAI" light thats been on the whole time I've had it.

I'd be willing to bet it's a Delphi MT-05 ECU and system.
If so have a look at this.(Fair warning: It's a 200mb zip file.)
It's some info I collected on that system. It actually speaks a language some ELM327 scanners can understand.

Edit---
If you'd be more comfortable with a carburetor, it's likely possible to transplant it.
