Hey all thinking about installing a Roof Rack. Has anyone installed one?
I've got a 2003 Ranger Edge Extended Cab but these do not have a rain gutter to mount to.

I was thinking about mounting brackets between the upper door and the just below the roof seal area with those special Rivet guns that put the Rivet screw-in nut

Has anyone used these and do they do the job?

Round.
My credo
I poop in the furnace.
I always liked the roof racks that mount from the bed. No drilling or riveting to the cab required.

I used nutserts like that for my bronco II. it worked well enough. Having the weight up there sucked though, and gas mileage was heavily impacted.

Personally, I wouldn't drill holes in my roof.

Most roof bar companies offer mounts that clamp the roof at the door jamb. I have them for the 2011 and the 2019.

Prepare for sticker shock. Roof racks are not cheap.

And plan on getting a wind faring to eliminate the whistle that the bars will generate.

OK Thanks for in input. I'll probably do something off the Lumber rack I'm building for over my Topper instead. I've got son rectangular aluminum 3 x 2 tubing I can build off of.
