I'm looking around ways to protect my new trucks chassis and I'm really not sure about undercoating it with Ziebart. My mechanic says stay far away,I dont need it.I've also been told that I want to have the chassis oiled but can't seem to find a place or trade name that does that type of service. So I dug up this product from Amsoil.
It sounds like it will work but I've learned not to believe every mfg claims.
Anyone?

Sounds like a good product. However that is the first I've heard of it, so no help from me.

I've heard of amsoil but not sure if that's what they used at the shop I had my Zuki done sprayed...it was good but that was three years ago and I didn't follow up with subsequent coatings...starting to rust out now...

On the Ranger I removed the body/box, had is sand blasted then an epoxy primer/sealer put on...after that I painted everything with yellow rust paint...especially in the frame rails, then painted the outside of the frame rails and any front-facing parts with Rubber guard...

I had pics but lost them when my HDD crashed...but it looks much better...and probably won't rust out for a few years anyways...the only pic I have left shows the inside frame rail...

Rust check. Without it or some similar undercoating a vehicle will have holes in it in 5 years around here. Fluid film is good too that's what they spray the salt trucks with. Corrosion free is also good and enviro friendly iirc... The product is only 1/2 the battle though. Getting it generously applied, and getting it everywhere is the key.

I ran my truck thru the local car wash in lawrence kansas about 5 times in 25 minutes including a serious under belly wash each time, then I drove it around town and on the highway for about an hour to really dry everything out then I applied this product and that was over 2 years ago and my undercarriage looks GREAT no visible rust and still a nice uniform dark look to everything! It is a Bondo / 3M product

I try to make it to the car wash at least once every couple weeks in the winter and I make a point to spray off the underside as well. They use salt generously here, and sometimes they use the liquid stuff, but I've no idea if the liquid will cause rust or not. I like the eastwood.com products as well. Good stuff in their magazine.
