Supply and demand works both ways, if there is enough demand then there will be more solar panels made, count on it

I was thinking more along the lines of how resource intensive they are to make. They’re probably much more efficient and easier to make than last I read about them tho.

You can't make your own gasoline though. You can generate your own electricity and control that cost.

If you're concerned about energy costs (which I think you're right about), there are pretty well defined ways to reduce or completely eliminate dependence on others for your energy needs. Might even get some tax breaks to take some action and move toward your own independence.
I dont ever plan on giving up IC

LOL I'm waiting for that day. Can you imagine a vehicle powered by trash with no smoke? Solves 2 problems at once.

Seriously though, I wish people were responsible enough to make very small nuclear reactors feasible. Ya know something the size of a fuel tank. Just heavier.

They won’t do it until they can figure out how to make a continuous income stream from it and they have to make them idiot proof to a certain level of idiot.

Thus the qualification of “to a certain level of idiot”. There is always a better idiot and there is only so much you can do.

i just think that when people start needing solar panels more, and supply increases, of course the cost will go up exponentially. and then you will need a license to install them and do point them towards teh sun and all the normal crap the government does to regulate everything

The Amish around here will use Cellphones and Power tools in their businesses. Building barns, houses, furniture, ect.

I suspect they draw the line at personal use.

They consider it a religious issues to use utilize certain technologies that make things easier, like a zipper. They say it makes you lazy.

They also have a thing about mustaches. If you are married you must have a beard, but it's against their religion to have a mustache at any point. Mustaches are a gateway drug to modern society.
