I looked at a house a few years ago with a very steep driveway that went into the basement. I can’t imagine that basement doesn’t floor regularly.
There was also a tunnel that went under the yard to a detached garage. That was really cool.

I see a lot of spilt level houses around here with garages on the lower level.

Yeah, I imagine that sloped driveway just funnels all kinds of water into the garage, unless they have a trench drain running across the entry way. Better keep that drain running well and clear though.

My last house was a raised ranch. The garage was under one end of the house, but the garage door was level with the ground. I never had water run into it.

On another note...

I spent a week cleaning up my yard. Cut down a few dead shrubs that had grown into trees, and cut the ones that were still alive into big shrubs.

Decided to rent a u-haul 5x9 utility trailer to haul it to our local recycling center. Also hauled of the rotted doors I replaced on the shop and a few other items of junk.

I made 3 trips and even had 6 bags of leaves stuffed in the bed of the truck on each trip.

In case you're wondering, there's 69 large lawn trash bags in that pile.

Glad I don't have to do that, the 5 heaping ranger bed loads to the burn pile of apple tree trimmings would have been more than that... Next step is getting the blackberries under control (which will never happen, but I can try...)

On another note, there's a very slight angle on my driveway toward my garage, under very heavy rain some water will seep a couple feet into the garage, on the very long list of to do's is get some drainage figured out for that but first step is to just get the stuff out from in front of the garage, but the to do list is too long to get that far...

Doing a great job on your house and property, I like how your making a home for yourself.

Are those husky contractor bags? If they are you can fit anything and everything in those bags. Have used hundreds of those bags thru the years.

A guy actually stopped as I was loading up the truck and told me he liked what I was doing with the building. He said the previous owner never saw the potential of the building and was glad to see someone doing something with it.

After replacing all of my waterline in the yard, cleaning the yard up, and helping fix the leak at my daughters, I'm finally working on the bathroom in the shop again.

I took the furring strips down, drilled more holes, and ran the 3/4" waterline through them from the exterior wall. The 3/8" copper line coming in under the building no longer flowed water.

I closed the wall up with drywall:

And then covered the drywall with a sheet of paneling.

Then I primed this panel and the original panel to the left of this photo and then painted them white. I still need to put my brick paneling over the furring strips and cover the water line.

The shadow from the light makes the wall look like it has a bend in it.
Here's the outside of the wall with all the water and drain lines:

I removed the old door and door frame and installed a new one:

Seems like this procet has taken forever, but it's slowly getting there.

One step at a time. Projects like this can easily overwhelm you if you are not careful.
It looks really good.
