I unearthed this laying next to my shop.

It's about 11-feet long with a threaded end. There's a few loops on it about 30 inches apart, and a loop on the end.

My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
The threaded end looks like a CB whip like on the semi.

But obviously thats not what it is.

So...no real idea.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Is it (or was it) hollow?

A purely WAG, but maybe a part from a piece of ag equipment, like a sprayer bar?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Without the loops, I might have thought it was part of a boring (horizontal drilling) bar.

It's 1/2" solid metal. The threaded end looks like it's about 3/4". The loops don't line up. The 2nd loop is about 24" from the 1st one and the 3rd loop is about 28" from the second.

From the tip to the threaded section us about 11'7" and base reminds me on an antenna. But I've never seen an antenna that was 1/2" thick steel with 3 loops attached to it.

My old brain is trying to tell me something but my current brain isn't listening. I think the old brain is trying to say antenna. Or part of antenna.

It's a sucker rod what's left of it was used on oil wells some one has welded loops on it.
1000005651.jpg

I had to Google that to see what it was. That definitely looks like what I have. It really makes me wonder what they used it for that they welded loops onto it.

I'd like to repurpose it into something useful.

Maybe they used it to hang parts to paint in the garage. Welded the loops to hang from ceiling. Just an idea.
