I have a 2004 Ranger and I have a bulb out in the instrument panel. I thought it had the 194 bulbs but after some research I have found out it has something called a T74. This bulb at a dealer comes with the 1/4 turn holder glued to the bulb? My question is has anyone tried removing the old bulbs from the holder to replace just the bulb? The bulb has been burnt out since I got the truck so I'm obviously not in a hurry to replace it especially with the weather being cold right now. I also watched a video on here on how much I have to remove to replace the bulbs and it's a lot more than I thought.

I had to replace the bulbs in the instrument panel for my 2008 Ranger and it is not really that hard to do and I imagine the instrument panel in your Ranger is the same as mine, it is just a lot of screws you got to remove. If you do replace the bulbs yourself, take your time and it is not that hard to do.

Plum Ranger, what bulb did you use to replace the bulbs in your Ranger? I thought mine had 194 but I did some research and mine is supposed to have 2721, another option is a74 . I work part-time at a NAPA and one of the counter guys looked them up and NAPA has a bulb that come with the 1/4 turn plastic holder that the dealer bulbs have. The NAPA number is 17037-N .
I watched video from 1A auto that shows how to replace those bulbs, it does take a lot more dash parts to remove than I thought.

I used 2721 in mine just like pjtoledo did in his, so yours should take the same.

Thanks guys, I thought that's what I needed. That NAPA number I put in my last post is supposed to be the 2721 with the 1/4 turn holder on it. I read that the 2721 from dealer has the those holders glued on to the bulbs.
