I was stuck trying to remove the ”duraspark box?”. There was 2 teck screws holding it onto the inner fender. Galvanic corrosion occured and when I tried to remove the screws the heads twisted off. I've been spraying it with catalyst type lube for the last 4 days. Finally after removing a plastic inner fender I was able to hammer at the screw points from the back side of the fender, and that shocked the corrosion enough to be able to unscrew one screw by screwing it the rest of the way thru the hole. The other screw popped out with a hammer and prybar, leaving a bigger hole in the fender. That's ok, I want to move the box up and inch or 2 to make easier access to the connectors.

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Motorcraft still sells Duraspark modules if you need one but a little hammering shouldn't bother the one you have. In the late 70's, Ford's diag procdure for intermittent module failures included tapping the module with a hammer, being careful not to hit it hard enough to distort the housing.
