Mostly this post is just a place to keep track of my progress and post pictures. Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

My 1990 Ranger XLT 4x4 w/2.9L needs some TLC after being neglected for many a year. This is as it sits now in the shop.

Work already done (before spinning a main bearing): New brakes, 3" suspension lift, rims & 31" tires.

I had removed the bumpers to fit it in storage. First step now is putting the 2" body lift on it.

Wish me luck! :)

The engine is already out. We found an '86 F150 for a donor 302/5L and we'll take the dual exhaust off of it too. The rest of the donor is scrap.

We have a master rebuild kit for the engine and I have various parts on hand from Advance Adapters: motor mounts, headers, dual sump oil pan, remote oil assembly and 4 core radiator.

I just ordered a remanufactured M5ODr2 transmission from Zumbrota Drivetrain. Should be here in a couple weeks.

The transfer case is the BW1354 and it has the following rear axle: S3100 3 73 75 0D19.

Looks like a really straight rust free truck. Great starting point!

Actually, it is. Just a little body crumpling on the passenger front corner and driver rear corner, and of course, the paint is crap! :)

Nice truck to start with! Do you have an adapter for that 1354 TC to bolt up to the M5ODR2? IIRC it won't bolt up to the full size truck tranny. I don't want to do my 1992 project over again, but it was a lot of fun making it a V8.

I know it's been a while, but we've run into some snags. Mechanic's real busy, snow, holidays, sickness, etc. Anyway, right now we're trying to find the transfer case adapter. It appears that AA doesn't make the 50-4501 anymore. Any advice? If I have to get a different transfer case, I will. Any suggestions?
