Does anyone have any opinions on or experience with Ultra, Pacer, Mickey Thompson, or Dick Cepek wheels?

if everything is going well, they are round.

not muchh of a help, but it is what I have to offer :p

Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek were fairly big in motorsports, so I would think that they have at least a better than average quality and build.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
I see lots of all the brands listed on trucks around here. Usually 22" or larger, and sporting mud terrains that not only are stretched.. but also have less sidewall than a sports car.

My opinion, is that a truck that gets used as a truck gets steel wheels, 15 or 16". A truck someone wants to utilize as a bad fashion statement gets the gaudy aluminum two tone rhinestone encrusted mall crawler wheels.

I was thinking about a set of Alcoa wheels that were an option on OBS Fords in the mid-1990s.

I hate factory wheels 9 times outta 10, but those are a decent looking set.

I bought ProComp wheels...

My first choice was Mickey Thompson Classics.... I just couldn't beat the deal on the ProComp wheels.

That said... I kinda wish I would have bought the American Racing AR172's... the ProComp wheels are a serious FLAT Black.

And Honestly.... I have a full set of pretty nice Alcoas w/caps. I should have just used those... but I wasn't ready to go 33inch tires at the time.

I looked at those you mentioned: the Pro Comp wheels are nice, albeit the openings seem oversized; however, the American Racing wheels looked great, and the openings seemed a proper size akin to the OEM, high-polished wheels offered by Ford. Moreover, I would be pairing the wheels with a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires.

True... Pro Comp wheels are not Hub Centric. Just have to take your time when torqueing them up.

I just couldn't pass the deal I got on a set of 5 wheels and tires.

The used set of Ultra bullet hole wheels I bought were not as true as I would have liked. I get a slight hopping at 35-40 mph however it goes away above that speed - suspension & body mounts absorb the vibration. Had I bought them new I would have returned them.
