I plan on doing a '55 grill swap on my 91 ranger and wanted the bed to match, but I couldn't find any aftermarket shadowbeds or similarly styled aftermarket stepside beds. I don't want a 93+ and I couldn't find a shadowbed in a junkyard if I spent my life looking, so, any suggestions?

If it ain't broke, break it.
If you're talking about a bed like this:

Good luck!

I didn't get to search long as I'm at work, but it seems like the company mentioned in the post that made the bed doesn't exist anymore, at least online. This is what I'm looking for, though

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Did you look into a bed for a model A or B? You can build one of those trucks with repro parts, I'll bet you could make one of those old beds work with some modification. A street rod supplier like Speedway might even have a fiberglass one.

This sounds like a really good idea... I'll look into it. Any suggestions on how to get a fender that looks right, without needing to fully fab a new one? Is that something I could realistically get done in fiberglass at a shop?

Someone bought the molds to make the "Shadow" Ranger beds... still has them and was talking about making them again. He is a member here... but I can't remember where that information is.

@Shran Do you happen to remember where that information is at for the stepside bed guy?

How about a DIY box with flareside fenders from a 1980-86 Bullnose F Series?

That's what the Shadow Ranger rear fenders remind me of.

Maybe you could just modify one of these beds to fit a Ranger?

Maybe... If I used the whole bed it would probably be too big. I can probably make something work, I've still gotta get the sho motor in and the suspension figured out.

I did a little more research. That style bed would have to be narrowed and shortened. If you have the skills, it may not be a difficult job.

I do not have the skills or the tools. I have a few ideas but this bed project is shaping up to be one of the last things I do to the truck before paint. Paint is the very last thing I'm doing to this truck
