Hi all.

I was wondering if someone could give me some help? I have a 83 Ranger 2.3 and I only have idiot lights in the dash. I would like to hook up a after market 3 pack of gauges. Do these 2.3 motors have a extra port that taps into the water jacket so I could put in a temp gauge? Also what about a oil jacket for oil pressure is there a extra port for that? Is so can you tell me where to start looking? As for the volt gauge I dont need help with that.

To all that will help thank you

I did a similar setup in my 84 Bronco 2. I just replaced the sensor switches with the sensors that came with the kit, oil pressure uses a hose for pressure reading and replaces the oil pressure sensor, coolant temp sensor replaced the factory one, and the voltage gauge is pretty simple LOL

But now the dash ones dont work at all. I'd like to have both. Usually motors have some extra ports for this stuff. I'm no pro but my old 59 flat head had a few ports for both water and oil

Your original post says you have idiot lights...they're 100% useless in the first place, by the time those lights come on you may as well be calling an engine supplier. They don't have dual ports, you get a gauge that is a glorified idiot light or you get idiot lights from the factory. I'll take mechanical gauges that are accurate over the junk in the dash.

Install the gauges & sensors in place of the factory ones you'll thank yourself.
