Hello All I am new to this forum and looking for a bit of help. I have just bought a damaged Ranger Thunder 4X4 2.5 diesel from Copart in the UK. Truck has had a fairly heavy hit on the front L/H side, passenger side in R/H drive truck. The impact smashed the wheel, snapped off the inner ball joint on the L/H side, snapped the connecting rod between the 2 ball joints on the R/H side. When I measured the wheel centres I found that the L/H side is 12 to 15mm shorter than the R/H side. Where do these trucks usually give in this type of smash, Lower wishbone or the brackets that the wishbone is mounted on.
Thanks for any help Baz

Good job. This is exactly where your question needs to be.

Welcome to the forum. This particular forum is predominantly North American Ford Ranger owners but there might be someone on here who will have the information you need.

Aren't the older T6 rangers essentially the same as the new U.S ranger?

I believe they are but the truck is so new in North America that I doubt anyone has had to figure out things like that here or what the exact differences are between a T6 and the NA model. Outside of the bumpers and drivetrain at least.

EDIT: The truck is a 2009. European Rangers still used the same frame and basic setup as our 1998-2011 Rangers. Lack of paying attention on my part.

It should be. I replied to his question in the intro section as best I could. Since I'm not a body man or do suspension and frame repairs after they get bent up, I don't know if he can just replace the bent parts and get the frame checked afterward or not.

Hello Gents truck has not got the twin beam axle. It has got 6 bolt wheel hubs. I have backed off the tensioning screw on the torsion bar with the hub hanging down, this has released the tension on the torsion bar so I can now move the torsion bar and get the lower wishbone off and replace it. While I have got it off I will check the mounting brackets for any damage. New ones are available in the UK. I will get a picture of the truck when I can and post it on here so that you can let me know which model it is.
Cheers Baz

Six bolt hubs sounds like a T-6. Looking forward to the pictures.
