I figured I'd solicit thoughts from the membership.

I had no interest in the Maverick when I heard Ford was going to come out with a small FWD pickup. Having seen the photos and specs of the truck I'm really digging it, and I can see where it would appeal to those that love the older Rangers. Especially the mini truckin crowd.

Someone at Ford asked me if I was going to create a new site for the Maverick. I'm not sure that the Maverick could generate enough content to justify it's own website. Of course I could be wrong. It happens.

For now I'm featuring anything Maverick related at Blue Oval Trucks. A while back I trimmed up the forums because I thought we had to many, but I've contemplated adding a forum section for the Maverick here. I've contemplated setting it up as a Maverick / Bronco Sport forum section since they share the same platform. I've also considered adding a forum section for the Bronco since we've been discussing that as well.

As it is now the Maverick, Bronco, and Bronco Sport should be posted in Ford Trucks & SUV's (No Explorers or Bronco II's) forum section.

Anyone have any thoughts / input they want to share?

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
I think that the thread volume on these will merit their own forum section, especially after there's been a good amount of them sold. And I think that they do have a lineage, so to speak, from the original Ranger, so they're well appropriate to be included on TRS.

Agree, I would have a separate forum for them.

Spending some time over on the Bronco Corral... it's painfully slow. With the release of two new Bronco architectures... I feel they have a home there already.

I would like to see that site gain some momentum with the new Bronco family. Maybe a forum header here... that redirects to the Bronco Corral for the Bronco and Bronco Sport.

With the shared architectures between the Sport/Maverick and Bronco/Ranger.... there are certainly some challenges to capture each group of enthusiasts to generate traffic.

I vote YES. I think the Maverick will be a nice addition the forums. I will definitely be entertaining the thought of my next vehicle purchase being an AWD Maverick. (ST hopefully)

They'll sell the Mavericks as fast as they can build them. At half the price of a Ridgeline, and almost as ugly, people will love them.

It's a sign of the time.

IMO it's a safe bet that it'll be a hugely popular site if you pull the trigger on it's own cubbyhole.

I was hoping for a new Ford remake of a retro V-8 Ranchero with a 6 speed manual transmission... I guess I'm no longer the target demographic. :icon_confused:

There are 12 pages about the Maverick on a major Ranger fan forum. That alone tells me members are very interested.
I'd give it it's own spot and see what happens.

Does spot mean it's own sub-forum here, or it's own site?

If you add the Maverick to this Ranger specialized forum, you might as well add the Escape since it is built on the same platform. As long as different platforms are being added, might as well add the Edge. It is a lot like the Escape. Full size F150's are popular, why not add them as well?

I like to see whats new on the forum using the "What's new -> New posts" feature. If you add Maverick to this site then those who do the same will have to sift through tons of posts about Mavericks to see information on Rangers.

It's own site... that way those of us who aren't fans of it don't have to see it. You've got a good thing going here on The RANGER Station... Logic would dictate purging everything that's not a "Ranger".

But it's your sandbox... Jim. Nice of you to ask.

I vote sub-forum here, Maverick will be the headliner, and of course the mechanical "Escape" stuff is going to transfer. There is already Bronco, Full size, Non Truck/SUV, Non Fords, B-Series specific (also non Ford), just to name a few. So having a little Maverick section wouldn't be much different. Or, it may be way different and in a few short years, this will be THE place for Maverick info, Like it is for Rangers now.

If it ends up getting too big for one section of the forum can always give it its own forum later.

If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
Since I have a pre order on a 2.0l turbo awd fx4 and the G-Friend has a pre order on a 2.5l hybrid I fully support adding a Maverick section

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
I don't see why giving it a subforum here would be an issue.

It's not like the Maverick is going to completely take over new content..
