Add circuit to Power Distribution Box

Want to add a circuit to the Power Distribution Box (or if you prefer Battery Junction Box) for an electric cooling fan. Have been told that the PDB
comes apart (upper part lifting off), however, I don't see anywhere my PDB comes apart. My truck is a 2002 2wd Edge with 3.0/5 spd. Any suggestions?
This circuit would provide power to the fan via relay and be fused in the PDB.

Have already added a circuit with toggle switch to power the relay. That circuit starts at position 6 in the Central Junction Box, a hot with ignition on terminal.

A secondary problem is where to go thru the firewall with the control wire.

Has anyone ever opened up a Power Distribution Box like the one found on a 2002 Ranger?

You can disassemble the box, it is possible, but all of the terminals are proprietary so you would either need to source those or a spare box to steal terminals from.

For the purposes of this, I agree, at least with the information provided. Personally I like using factory fuse boxes to power other things but I'm weird and have access to all of the spare parts I need to do these things, but it isn't always feasible or realistic.

or 1 other option is to run the wire directly off the battery, can you lug ring a wire to the bolt for the terminal? as a fan could draw up to 30 amps.

Thanks for your input guys. My plan was to add to the BJB whatever terminals needed to give me a 30 amp circuit to power the fan.
If I can also add a relay to the BJB that would be great, however, I do have a relay & saddle I could mount near the BJB.
This is not a show truck. It is my "work" truck but I still want things neat and tidy.
Agree that the easiest way would be to come off the battery with a wire. But, I'm not necessarily looking for the easiest way.
Want the end result to be well organized and uncluttered.
Intend to keep this Ranger and my other 2 Rangers forever. Thanks again fellows.

You can get a "add a circuit" from the parts store or online that will allow you to add up to a 30 amp circuit to the fusebox. That is how I have always wired up the fans on my vehicles.
