Realized yesterday when hunting down my wipe motor fuses/relays that both fuses in the engine fuse box labeled for the ABS brake system are....just not there. Only a couple people have worked on it since I've had it (since 2005) and none of them removed them which means, they've not been there in a very long time. My ABS/Brake warning lights have been coming off and on since I've had it, most of the brake system has been changed with the exception of a proportioning valve. I've never noticed an issue using the brakes once the new cylinders/pads were done other than if you have to slam on them it triggers the ABS/Brake warning lights and they won't go back off for months. Should I put fuses into those slots and see what happens if I"m not actually having brake function issues? I don't live in an area that gets snow or ice. 1999 V6 Ranger. Thank you!

you can put them in and slam on the brakes to see if the system still works. if it does good, if not, still good since thats how its been the whole time.

I was more concerned if maybe there was a reason the fuses are out, like it would blow something else in the system if in. I'm already having random electrical issues and didn't want to make more! :)

How the heck are the warning lights coming on with no fuses in the circuit?
