How would i hook up the sender for my autometer trans temp gauge without having to drill a hole in the stamped pan, i don’t trust that it won’t leak.

On the A4LD(or 4R and 5R series) the Bottom trans cooler line is OUT to cooler, upper connection is RETURN from cooler

The OUT line will have hottest temp, so best place to test temp
Autometer sells the connector for doing this

Other than that you will need to install it in the pan

My credo
If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
The “out” cooler line would be the most accurate for monitoring temp but you can also the line pressure test port on the case. It’s been a bit since I’ve done this and don’t remember if the port is deep enough for the probe on sending sensor or not. If not you will have to use a stand off fitting,
