2005 E-150 Cargo van. AC didn't work when I got it. Put it in the shop about a year ago. They got it blowing cold with no issues. I leave it running when making deliveries to keep it cool inside. Here lately, I've noticed it doesn't get as cold as it used to, when idling and blowing hot air under heavy acceleration, like passing or giving it gas to go up a grade. First guess is vacuum leak, but I wanted to run it by TRS before I take it back to the shop.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
I agree with @alwaysFlOoReD about the WOT, but the idling not cooling as well I think you might have an issue. It could just be your mind playing tricks on you about it. But to be sure put a thermometer in the vents and note what the temp is driving and at idle. You should have about a 5-8* difference because idling doesn't get the air flow like driving does. IIRC, AC vent temps are usually around 55-60* driving. You may just need to have the AC serviced or there may be a small leak. Also, MAX AC recirculates the air in the vehicle, so if its hot to begin with, it will take longer to cool down.

If you have a black dashboard the heat transfer can have an effect on the cooling abilities as well. Sunshades/window screens can help with this A LOT. Living in FL I'm sure you know this already though.

A/C vent temp going up during WOT does make sense. But if you're actually losing airflow from the vents then that's a separate and possibly additional issue involving vacuum to the vent selection system.

The temperature variable may be a separate issue from the blowing. I had the blowing issue and it's a fairly common problem it seems.

Never noticed the WOT issue until this week. It was also hotter than ass outside this week. @fastpakr, I'm not losing air flow, just temp increase. Maybe it's just me being finicky. I'll keep my eye on it. thanks for all the responses. @avid I'll skim that thread for any leads on my situation, thanks for that link.

I've seen the vacuum canister fail on those, they're a pain in the ass to get to and replace, I've done two and wouldn't like to do another. Usually what happens is the mode selector will default to defrost because there isn't enough vacuum though, It'll still blow cold air, just not where you wanted it.

Got the go ahead from my Boss to put it back in the shop. Luckily it's across the street from my work
