Bought the truck a year ago as a way to teach myself about car and boy I picked a good one. Using Youtube and a buddy, I changed out the front and back rotors, shoes, drum brakes, half the brake line, the battery and the coolant.
Just the other day I noticed the engine was smoking. Looks like there is oil leaking from somewhere atop the engine and it start burning off as the engine heats up. Going to spray it down tomorrow with brake cleaner (now that it's not -16 out!) and try and figure out exactly where it's coming from. Any advice on how to tell if it's a head gasket failure, valve cover or something less dramatic to fix?
Glad to have found this site, thanks in advance!
