Ok I've been doing some research and want to make sure that if I do this I won't miss anything. I have a 98 Ranger, 3.0 manual tranny.

Parts list so far:
-Borg Warner 1354 Manual Transfer case out of a 97 or older Ranger/Explorer. Or '03/'04 if I get lucky... Ya right.
-1" shorter front drive shaft
-Shifter

Questions:
1. Did B2's have manual T-Cases and would they work for this?
2. Would I get the drive shaft from the truck I take the T-Case out of?
3. Would I have to change the rear drive shaft?
4. Would the BW 1350 work?
5. Since the lights would be constantly flashing on my dash, would that set off reactions so that other stuff won't work? I know that there is one wire coming from the manual t-case for the lights on the dash but wiring isn't really my friend so I would just leave it.
6. A member did this on his '97 and had to change the output flange because the T-Case he used was from an automatic but his truck was a manual. Would I need to do this also if I get one from an automatic?
7. For those of you that have done this, on a scale from 1-10 how hard is it? This would be my first real modification and want to do it right.
8. Am I missing anything?

Any input is welcome! Thanks in advance!

I've never done the swap, but from what I remember reading from others is if the transfer case is a manual 1354 from a 97 or older you need to get the front drive shaft from a 95-96 explorer. If its the newer manual case from the 02-03 fx4's then your original drive shaft should be good. As for the manual 1350's, I have no idea.

So if I get a T-Case from a 93 Exploder why would I need to use the drive shaft from the 95-96? What's the difference between them?

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

The early T-case has a yoke the attaches to a ujoint. The later one uses a CV joint.
The only RBV that come stock with IFS and the 13-54 with the u-joint driveshaft is the 95-early97 Explorer.

(Lets not get into the "TTB is IFS" s#!t, you know what I mean.)

Ok, went to the junkyard today and found 3 BII's with manual T-Cases. Forgot to look at the years. Also found a 94 Explorer with one. I'm worried that the 94 won't last long so will one from the BII's work? I might go back this weekend to go after the Explorer but wanna be sure just in case.
