None at all.
My truck has been down for a while. I went out to work on it and the heat shielding mat on the AC/heater box and firewall have been decimated by mice. They're hanging down on the exhaust. I have a 2.5L auto. Has anyone removed these protective heat shielding without any issues? I'm concerned my AC may not keep up with cooling or the heat build up in the fire wall may cook components behind the dash. What can be used to replace this heat shield matting?

Yes, remove it

Shouldn't notice too much of a difference unless you idle alot in traffic, engine bay gets pretty warm with no air circulation
Auto parts stores sell replacement heat barriers in rolls, just cut to fit, has adhesive back that holds it to box
