hey guys my clutch has to be almost pushed to the floor to get it into gear. is this normal for a new clutch it releases about 2 inches from the floor

My credo
Grew up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s
mine is the same way but i have no idea how old the clutch is. i feel like something is wrong and mine might need a new clutch kit installed soon. i will probably try bleeding this one some more to see if it helps though

no air in the system, and the firewall is not flexing either.

When my previous mechanic redid the clutch on my ‘97, it engaged tight to the floor. He said it would self bleed and I didn’t really believe it, but over the course of a week it it resolved. I’d give it a week or two and see if the pedal height at engagement comes up.
