I have a 98 4.0. Just finished intake manifold gasket repair. During that, I moved the AC compressor to the side, leaving the lines hooked up. Put it all back together, and while it runs great the AC won’t work - clutch not engaging. Pressure from the port to put refrigerant in says it has too much pressure, so I do t believe it’s low on 134a. All fuses and relays checked out fine. Ideas?

Do you have a set of manifold gauges so as to check line pressures?

Confirm you have power at the connector on the compressor when you turn on the A/C in the cab.

The gauges are needed to properly check the systems pressure, without them one is really shooting in the dark.
There has to be a minimum of 45lbs in the system to allow the closing of the suction side pressure switch.......
