So somewhat of a newb when it comes to modifying my '96 Ranger XLT 4x4 and am just putting together a shopping list... My intent is to put a 3" body lift kit on 'er (Protune Suspension's 3" full body lift kit), but then... I'd also like to eliminate the stock rake (adding 1.5" Leveling Coil Springs?). So my question is this: Is it considered better to add the lengthened coil springs and a standard lift kit or stick with the stock springs and go with a leveling body lift kit? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I've never heard of a leveling body lift kits. Any body lift you buy will be the same size lift blocks... front to rear.

There are a couple ways to level the truck. Look through the Tech Library and see what you can get from past articles.

The biggest problem with lifting the front of a TTB truck to level is it typically creates some alignment issues to the front end. They can be worked out but it can be a mind bender and could get a little spendy getting it corrected.

it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
3 in body lift.

1 inch coil spacer or a leveling coil.

One vendor I was considering offers three different styles of lift kits (note the Leveling Lift at right; this is to what I was referring). As I understand, while it lifts both front and rear, the front is given added lift to eliminate the stock rake.

Alternately, to get the same effect, I could go with "Stock Lifting" (lifting the same amount front & rear) and eliminate the rake by adding lifting springs to the front correct?

Body lift and spring lift to level... that is the way I'm familiar with.

I would be surprised if your pictures depict "body lift only"... I have been wrong before though. Seems impossible to keep the body lines straight.
