What does my 1990 Ranger have to do with anything? You think I'd laugh and walk away because the $12,000.00 you want for your truck is more money than I would ever spend on any vehicle ever? You're totally wrong, if that's the case. I've spent over $20,000.00 on a vehicle (bought a brand new 2010 Honda Fit in 2010). No, I know the value of a vehicle. And if I don't know what it's actually worth, I know how to find out. And I know that the vast majority of vehicle buyers are average, run of the mill people like me, not custom truck builders like you. An average, run of the mill person will look at that truck, and say "hmm. Yes, that truck looks nice, but it sold new 25 years ago for $13,200.00. The minute it was driven off the lot the value dropped to your asking price. 25 years later, it has a lot more miles on it, it's not particularly rare (not like the '66 F100 that I posted a picture of in another thread), was never anything special (like a SVT Lightning)...... It's just an ordinary, run of the mill truck that somebody sank a lot of money into to make it into something different.I get not everyone has 12k to spend on a custom vehicle, including you. But anyone who has built something custom is well aware what it cost. This isn't an average vehicle/ ranger and you should be able to tell that just by looking at. But based on the vehicle that you have under your avatar 30 yr old 2.9 v6 2wd Ranger I wouldn't expect much more that to just laugh and walk away.
Sorry, Ron, but:I know its a Ranger base, but is not a Ranger any more, so Ranger pricing is a moot point, someone shopping for a Ranger won't pay for a "look alike" Ranger
A Ranger forum just wouldn't be the place to get an idea of pricing since its not a Ranger, its in a Custom category
How much for this custom Corvette: https://www.corvetteblogger.com/images/content/2019/050219_4b.jpg
Its not a Corvette anymore, looks like a Corvette, lol, but that is not a Corvette, as far as people at a Corvette forum would be willing buy or price
An average truck buyer would probably laugh at whatever price is put on the F-100 you mention too. For custom vehicles nobody cares about the average buyer as they are not the target audience for selling a custom vehicle. What does my 1990 Ranger have to do with anything? For the record, here's where I got the number I quoted in my original post: https://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/1995/Ford/Ranger/1-2-Ton-Pickup-Flareside-Splash/Values. As you can see, I'm not just pulling random numbers out of my backside.
Since he already has an offer for $12k I would say not everybody looks at it like it is just another boring 2wd Ranger like you do.Sorry, Ron, but:
1) According to the VIN, it is still a 1995 Ranger Splash.
2) According to the DMV it is still a 1995 Ranger Splash.
3) According to the automobile insurance company, it is still a 1995 Ranger Splash.
And that Corvette? Yeah, it's still a Corvette.

Wouldn't have to pass anything here in Oklahoma. Have it trucked here, drive it over to register it. They won't even come out to see if all the lights work and it has working seat belts. Issue me one plate for the back and walk out the door.An average truck buyer would probably laugh at whatever price is put on the F-100 you mention too. One kinda big strike against it though, depending on where the buyer lives it would have no chance of passing smog being a carbureted 1995 truck.
$12k probably isn't bad but since he threw it out there he would probably go a little higher. Try to go for $15k?
