My name is cody. i have a 95 ford ranger 2.3 4cyl manual ranger. recently it has sat for 2 months to get my exhaust straight piped and to delete egr and dpfe. upon putting everything back together the ranger will not keep running, new fuel pump, pressure reg, and filter. new coil packs plugs and wires, timing is right, and fuel pressure is good. and yes i have tested the inertia switch and it is perfectly fine. i have tried running codes but there are no codes to display. Starts and runs for about 3 seconds then stalls out i can give it gas to prolong the running but it still tries dying when i give it gas. PLEASE HELP...

What do you mean by straight piped? Still have cats? Still have both o2 sensors?

Well that was simple to diagnose. Put the o2 sensors back on.

ill try it but i was told it wouldnt matter if they was there or not
The o2 sensors are what tell the computer how much fuel the engine needs. Whoever said you don't need them does not understand the fundamentals of how fuel injection works.

Yup. No o2 sensors means no feedback to the computer. It cannot adjust the fuel mixture since it has no data. The computer sticks in "open loop mode" which is just a crude factory setting.

You should be seeing about a million codes and have a check engine light though so something else is wrong as well, or your scanner is busted.

UPDATE....
Truck started and finally after about a min or 2 started to idle till it bogged out. this time i have a different issue. the starter is spinning like a mad man when i turn the key but no crank from the motor. did the starter just die on me? ugh one things after another. also my scanner isnt busted after swapping that 02 with a new bosch from autozone it is now saying there is an 02 but its not working
