Why does my truck die going up or down a hill. It runs like a scaulded dog on flat ground.

I've drained the gas , thinking water or sugar or something was in it, but it looked good, changed fuel pump, fuel filter and same sh!@.

Does it slowly cough and die like it is running out of gas or die instantly like the electric power is cut off?

It does act like its running out of gas. I've checked the inertia switch and it seems fine. I even tripped the button while it's running and it dies nearly instantly. So I don't think it would be that.

So fuel level in the tank doesn't matter?

Can you reproduce the stalling by jacking up the front or back of the vehicle?

Nothing obvious comes to mind, maybe an old alarm system that had a motion/angle sensor, but thats a stretch since that would just activate alarm not effect engine operation

I assume the dash gauges don't show any loss of electrical power?

I checked guages and appears the oil pressure guage is bottomed out. Checked out and it's good. Also the fuel guage is intermittently changing from accurate to a full tank. ???

Fuel gauge going from accurate to full means the wire to the sender in the gas tank is being cut off, losing its connection
There are 4 wires at the gas tank
2 for fuel pump 12v and ground
2 for sender 12v and ground, if either loses connection gauge goes to Full

(same would cause fuel pump to shut off or reduce volume/pressure, if one of its wires were corroded or broken)

These 4 wires travel together to the frame rail, could be there is a problem in this wiring harness

I assume "angle" of vehicle doesn't match fuel gauge malfunction?

Finally got a dry day. I traced the wires from the fuel pump to the harness connector coming into the cab under the seat. Didn't see any bad places. Bought a new multimeter today, so maybe between it and the wiring & vacuum troubleshooting guide, and a lil luck, I may getter d!¢kkd
