Hello, please help?

The radius arm snapped driving through DC one day.
I ordered a new radius arm, through rockauto. It does not fit.
From the sticker on the Axle, it identifies as a Dana28

Has this happened to anyone else?
Can anyone recommend a radius arm that would fit?

Are you sure it's not a d-35?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I would expect it to be a D35. Should be able to find in junk yard, Rock Auto, LMC Truck,???

If necessary, I'm pretty sure I have the ones that came off my 93. They should fit. Not sure what shipping would be from zip code 29385 to you.

You have a Dana 35, the F5 number is '95 design (some minor differences and the twin piston calipers were done in '95) and all '90 up Rangers came with Dana 35 external components (lets not get into internals, there's some goofy stuff in some...)

That also looks like a Dana 35 radius arm with the shock stud instead of the double shear setup a Dana 28 had. I'm pretty sure you just need to spread the ears some to get them to go over the axle housing. First make sure the radius arm bolts go through the holes though...

Thank you!. They do have shock studs, do you think this may be one of the ones with the goofiness?

How would you recommend going about spreading the ears out?
I'm currently heating and "tampering" the ears to move them into position but it seems like a lengthy process.
I really feel like I am at my wits end with this truck sometimes.

I've had to install a new radius arm bolt on the top side, that nut would not come off...thats when I got motivated to buy the map gas

Heat shouldn't be necessary, I'd just put an ear over something and hit it with a hammer back a bit at the base of the ears...

Being a 3.0L chances are you have the hybrid axle with a smaller ring gear and spider gears but the outers are all the same so I wouldn't worry about it unless you are planning on being tough on the front axle (33" tires or bigger with low gears)... even then it's just a matter of swapping the center section and the inner axle shafts...

The photo does not really do the radius arm justice but im having a hell of a time bending/beating the ears out wide enough so that they will fit down on to the current axle...it seems to me that there is not enough metal/meat on the radius arm to cover the Axle since the gap on the radius arm is smaller than the width of the axle...I spent two weeks thinking I ordered the wrong parts.

Here's the shot I think you're interested in.
5 3/4" between the ears.
