Would this be an issue with the Charcoal Canister?
Rough Idle and Stalling Out: I removed the hose from the Throttle Body and placed my thumb over the hose, and the rough idle and stalling out stopped. The motor ran like it was supposed to.
I replaced the hose and connected the new hose to the Canister line, and still the same issue.

Would this be a bad Charcoal Canister that is causing this issue?

The only hose connected to the charcoal canister is the one leading to the throttle body; the one leading to the fuel tank was cut, and the end burned.
I am assuming my father did this when he was wiring the motor. He passed away in 2020, so I cannot find out why it was not connected.

Any ideas on this issue?
I have no issues purchasing a new canister, as I found one on Amazon for $59.00.

Heres is my Canister

Hey, Bobby.
How would I test to find out what the issue is that would be keeping it open?

Also, where would the canister purge solenoid be located?

In the picture below. Purple in the splice for the line.
The line going to the gas tank had caught the power steering pump many years ago and cut the line. I just noticed it this evening when I went back out looking for the "canister purge solenoid."

I had to splice together the line going to the gas tank, and the truck stayed running on its own for the first time in five years.

its usually down near the can....i did not see it...so if it is gone it cant plug the hole....may have got tossed and the line just connected to the can....or it is up by the throttle body....

I went out just now and took a look, but I could not find it along the line under the hood.
I followed the line, and it went down and under the rail to the tank.
I will get under the truck this weekend and see if I can find it.
Have to clean off the carport first.

I will post back once I find out if it is there or not.
Thinking it might be somewhere around the tank.
I have to lift the bed anyway to pull the pump assembly out to reset the gauge as it is reading 1/4 tank on empty.

That solenoid is connected to a line that runs from the throttle body to the charcoal canister.

That patched line that runs back to the gas tank goes to a valve on top of the gas tank that has no electrical connection, it’s just a spring loaded valve.
