We just got our first snow so I decided to try out my four wheel drive with Ford manual hubs. Left side turned from free to lock just fine and I felt both detents. When I went to lock the right side it came off of the detent and stopped just shy of the lock arrow. I also do not feel it hit the lock detent. I would say it dead stops about an 1/8 inch off of the lock arrow.

The transfer case locks and the 4x4 light comes on and it feels like the front wheels are engaged. I also jacked up the front right wheel thinking I could shimmy the wheel and it would lock. It didn't hit the detent but it is definitely locked.

I recently replaced all 3 front axle u-joints and wonder if I may have put the hub end together incorrectly. I know it would lock before I messed with it so just wondering what it could be? Is the hub indexed?

I know no one replied but I figured out. Somehow I just over clocked the hub. Thanks for the replies. Maybe I just posted in the wrong place.

Thanks for posting your solution. Most likely no one had any ideas. I know I didn't.
