I still feel like there is too much vibration from the engine at idle. it's enough to shake the open hood back and forth.
Got an OBD1 reader and pulled codes after removing negative battery cable for a minute to reset them.
For the KOEO procedure i got one code (no CEL) - 565 canister purge 1 solenoid failure.
There was one stored code - 512 keep alive memory test failure
-The vacuum line to the intake was broken from the canister to the intake. I replaced it, but there might not be enough miles on it to truly clear the code? that or the solenoid itself is possibly toast.
The person who i got the truck from replaced the plugs and wires before i got it. They should have less than 1k miles on them. I pulled one and saw it was an Autolite platinum after some research, I figured i would replace them all with Autolite double platinum.
Looking for some help reading the plugs.
Cylinder 3 plug:
Cylinders 2 & 1
Cylinders 4,5,6
To my untrained eye, 4,5,6 look ok (ok enough).
Cylinder 6 was probably intermittently misfiring from the buildup on it. Cylinders 1 & 2 look oily and kind of fouled. not as bad as 6 though.
The plug wires are no-names, but i tested resistance on each one and the passenger side wires were all 5-6K, the driver's side wires were 9-12, with the longest to #5 being 12.5K. While those aren't great, they appear to be within spec. While testing i moved them all around to see if i could find some dead spots and they were fine.
New plugs might make it run a bit smoother (probably in my head) but still vibrates significantly in Park at idle.
The belt tensioner is moving a lot. enough that it is slamming against it's stop hard enough to make a repetitive sound.
Is that a symptom or a possible cause of the rough idle?
