Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew if the 4.0 headers would fit a 3.0 I'm looking for some good exhaust manifolds for a 3.0 and it looks like 4.0 headers would fit as well as being cheaper and more abundant, thank you for your time

1994 ford ranger xlt 3.0 v6 5spd

No, they won't fit, for sure

If a manufacturer has a part that fits multiple engines they would ADVERTISE that, and list EVERY engine it fit

But in any case no, won't fit for sure, and there are two 4.0ls used in Rangers, headers for either wouldn't fit 3.0l

How do they change from the 3 to the 4 sense they look so similar?

Any V6 engine exhaust manifold will "look" the same, Ford, GM or ??

And if you are looking at a picture on a website its probably not the actual exhaust manifold so can't really compare the two pictures
If you could find CAD drawings they would show the differences, but they are also company "secrets" since the design of an exhaust manifold that has a power gain at a certain RPM is why they work, so they don't want to just give that away to any one with a pipe bender and welder, lol
