Hi All

My Sons 93 Ranger he wipers stopped working the other day after a snow storm.
He scraped the windshield but thinks that one wiper might have been stuck to the glass.

He turned the key, turned the switch.
The passenger did not move, the driver side moved a little but then stopped.
Since then neither will move.
However you can slightly hear it clunking/tapping.
If I put my had on the motor I can feel it lightly tapping.

Are these similar to the window motors?
I've had to rebuild a couple window motors over the years due to the 3 little slugs deteriorating.

I'm thinking of replacing the motor but wanted to see if anyone had a similar issues.

Thanks in advance.
Bill

If you pull the little oval cover off you can see the gesr train inside. Should be some grease in. Run it with cover off and see if its stripped out. Some have metal some have plastic gears. Theres also a plate dead center on cowl under the hood that will give you visual access to wiper cross bar, but id think the gear drive may be stripped.

Are rebuild kits available?
Or would I need to just replace the entire motor/trans assembly?

Thanks
Bill
