okay so i have a 93 f150 that has a fubar dome/dash/headlight switch. first off let me explain the symptoms...when its pulled to the headlight position, headlights do not work, but amber lights do, up until about 2 weeks ago the dash adjustment worked about half the time, which seems to me that the spring contact inside the switch is effed up because it crinkles when i turn it to brighten the lights, now the dash lights do not work. im not worried about the headlights i already wired a toggle switch to turn them on/off.
my question is: would i be better off replacing the switch? (local shop wants outragous amount of cash to do it) or just fab my own light (probably LED) to a switch. im lost on how i would go about taking the speedo assembly apart.
here is her mugshot without the toolbox
